Pope John Paul II :: Track to Sainthood
April 2, 2007: The Vatican Congregation of Saints' Causes, led by Jose Cardinal Martins, now takes over the beatification process for the Servant of God, Pope John Paul II. This Vatican congregation will now begin the review of all documentation already submitted at diocesan level.
Also identified for the first time was Sister Marie-Simon-Pierre, who was
cured of Parkinson's months after the death of Pope John Paul II. She
lives near Aix-en-Provence, France. It is her cure that will be formally
investigated for Pope John Paul's beatification process.
